The European Space Agency (ESA) is currently advertising for four new astronaut posts and this process is open to applicants from all 17 ESA nations, including the UK. Many scientists, engineers and doctors from Britain are expected to apply. The application period will be open from 19th May to 15th June, 2008. Further information about the background to astronaut selection, the qualifications and medical standards required and the actual method of applying can be found on ESA's website at www.esa.int The BIS is encouraging all appropriate and enthusiastic UK applicants to enter this selection process as soon as possible. |
