UK Space Activities
Carron & Dochart Rooms Scottish Exhibition and Conference Centre Glasgow, Scotland
10-11 November 2007
After the success of the inaugural event held in Brighton 2004, the Society has organised another weekend to review UK Space Activities. This event brings together representatives from across the UK in the fields of academia, science, engineering, education and industry. It is an opportunity for the public, students and young people to both listen to lectures and discussions on topics and projects currently underway and to ask questions at any level of detail.
The aim of the conference is to celebrate the UK space capability (both scientific and industrial), linking well with the current promotion of space as a National ‘asset’ worthy of increased support by the UK Government; To encourage greater collaboration and cooperation, foster networking opportunities and to facilitate productive discussions on all aspects of present and future UK space activities.
There is a full programme of sessions over two days, accompanied by an exhibition that includes major aerospace companies in the UK (such as EADS Astrium, VEGA, ASTOS) and student organisations (UKSEDS). The sessions and exhibitions are designed to be both complimentary and current, allowing delegates the opportunity to discuss items of topical interest. A potential benefit to students would be the chance to talk directly with industry on future career prospects.
