Dear Member,
Firstly, let me thank you for your continued support through this past year. This coming year we are again looking to maintain and improve the services provided by our Society to its membership. In order to accomplish this of course, we rely heavily on continued membership and the subscription income that this brings in.
In the past twelve months we have incurred some unexpected costs brought about by events such as the flooding of the upstairs area of our headquarters. More positively though, through the continued efforts of our Executive Secretary and her staff, our preparations move ahead toward the Congress of the International Astronautical Federation to be held in Glasgow in 2008. We are currently planning to support this with a range of exciting pre-Congress events. Watch your Forthcoming Events page for details. Overall, I am pleased to report that we are ahead of the aggressive schedule that we had set ourselves.
Our programme of events throughout 2007 has continued the long tradition of delivering lectures and symposia on a wide range of topics. Much of the praise for this goes to the Programme Committee for its energetic and continuous efforts in providing the impetus and support for these events.
I hope that you have had the opportunity to visit our headquarters in Vauxhall to attend and support some of our events or visit the library. If not, you are always welcome to call in and see us during a visit to London whenever you can.
To recap, the contributions you have made by your continued membership is vital to the on-going success of our Society. In no small measure, it helps us maintain our pre-eminent position as the Society for the promotion of astronautics.
I thank you again for your continued support and look forward to meeting you at one of our many events.
Yours

John Harlow MBE President
